Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi said that there will be no state-owned jute mills in the country rather those will be run under the public-private partnership (PPP).
The textiles and jute minister came up with the information in an online briefing on Sunday.
Golam Dastagir said that 24,886 permanent workers of state-owned jute mills are being sent to retirement through golden handshake in a bid to minimize losses. The jute mills will be modernized and made productive through PPP. And these workers will get the opportunity of jobs on a priority basis.
