JU teacher sacked for sexual harassment

The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) sacked assistant professor of the Government and Politics department, Sanwar Siraj for sexually harassing a female student of the same department, ‍according to JU acting registrar Ramina Kaneez.

The decision has taken at a syndicate meeting of the university chaired by JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam.

JU acting registrar Ramina Kaneez, also syndicate secretary, confirmed the matter to media.

On the other hand, A 43th batch student of the Government and Politics department filed a written complaint to the department chairman bringing allegations of sexual harassment against Sanowar Siraj, on September 19 last year, according to source.
