JU students asked to leave halls

The Jahangirnagar University authorities have threatened to take legal action against students who forcibly entered and are staying at the dormitories defying directives, according to media reports.

The university asked the students to leave the halls by 10 am on Monday, In an emergency notice on Sunday Signed by the university’s acting registrar.

Authorities said Jahangirnagar University has been closed from March 19, 2020 like other universities in the country due to government directives to protect students from the Covid-19 pandemic, In a notice.

A number of students disobeyed government orders and forcibly entered some residential halls and took up position on Saturday evening. the notice said the university administration is instructing them to leave the hall on their own initiative by 10 am on Monday. Otherwise, the university administration will be forced to take legal action against them.
