Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast on Wednesday that a low pressure is likely to form over North Bay during the next 24 hours.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderates over North Bay, said the Met Office.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
The BMD also forecast that many places of the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thunder showers in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am on Wednesday.
A few places over Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country, said a Met Office release issued on Wednesday morning.
However, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am on Wednesday was recorded 47 millimetres (mm) at Rangamati in Chattogram.
