Rain likely to continue across the country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday 9 am predicted that rain or thundershowers are likely to continue. 

The Met Office also forecasted that most of the places in the country are likely to experience rain or thundershower in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning. 

Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. 

Maximum temperature of the country was recorded by 35.0 degree Celsius yesterday at Jashore in Khulna while the lowest one was recorded today by 24.7 degree Celsius jointly at Rangamati in Chattogram division. The country’s maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded by 96 millimeters (mm) at Sandwip in Chattogram division. 

The sunsets at 6:50 pm today and rises at 5:19 am tomorrow in the capital.
