Global coronavirus death exceeds 5 lakh

The death toll from Covid-19 across the globe reached 501,262 on Sunday morning, according to the Centre for worldmeter data.

Besides, the number of confirmed cases rose to 10,080,224, according to data.

South American country Brazil has come up to the second position with 1,315,941 confirmed cases and 57,103 deaths so far.

Meanwhile, Russia, the third most infected country, confirmed 627,646 coronavirus cases and  8,969 deaths as of Sunday.

 Meanwhile, South Asian country India has come up to the fourth position with 529,577 confirmed Covid-19 cases. The country has so far reported 16,103 deaths.

Among the countries, the US has been the worst-hit with the highest recorded deaths of 128,152 patients and about 2,596,537 confirmed cases.

In the US, New York State alone counted 34,301 deaths till the date.

The UK has the third-highest death toll at 43,514, followed by Italy with 34,716, France 29,778 and Spain 28,341, according to worldmeter.

 Coronavirus cases were first reported in China in December last year.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.

 Situation in Bangladesh
Bangladesh has so far reported 133,978 coronavirus cases and 1,695 deaths till Thursday.

Health authorities on Thursday reported 3,506 new Covid-19 cases and 34 deaths.
