Pro-AL Bangabandhu Parishad files $500m libel case against Al Jazeera

Apro-Awami League organization Bangabandhu Society of USA filed a $500 million defamation case with the US federal court in Michigan against Al Jazeera over a report, titled “All The Prime Minister’s Men,” that aired last month, according to media reports.

The organization President Rabbi Alam said to media that everyone connected to this defamatory report must be brought to justice. Sharing the development at a press conference in New York on Monday.

Al Jazeera's English TV, Al Jazeera's Media Network, Konak Sarwar, Elias Hossain, Shayer Zulkarnain Sami, Delwar Hossain and David Bergman have been charged in the case which was filed on February 22 and got up in the docket on Monday, according to press conference.

According to media reports, plaintiffs in the case are- United States Bangabandhu Parishad, its President Dr Rabbi Alam, the United States Bangabandhu Commission, its Chairman Sher Muhammad Anam Rasu, and Rizvi Alam, International Affairs Secretary of Bangabandhu Central Commission and President of SPAN Branch.
