Samrat lands in jail

Executive Magistrate of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) headquarters Sarwoer Alam confirmed this news that the expelled ruling party Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Samrat, who was arrested on Sunday for his alleged involvement in illegal casino business and later sentenced for six months imprisonment under Wildlife Preservation and Security Act for possessing a skin of Kangaroo, has landed in Dhaka Central Jail at Keraniganj.

Jail sources told that Ismail Hossain Samrat was taken to the jail around 8:40 pm.

On the other hand, hours after the arrest of the ruling party Jubo League Dhaka South unit President Ismail Hossain Samrat, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has started raiding his office in the city’s Kakrail area on Sunday (Oct 6).

Rab executive Magistrate Mohammad Sarwar Alam along with Samrat has entered the office around 1:30 pm on Sunday.

Lt Col Sarwar Bin Kashem confirmed this that earlier around 4:45 am, a team of Rab was arrested Samrat and his associate Arman from Chauddagram upazila in Cumilla on specific allegation.

On the other hand, RAB said that Samrat had taken shelter in the house of transport businessman Monir Hossain at Kunja Sreepur village in Alkara union.
