ACC arrests DIG Bazlur prison over bribery allegation

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of prisons Bazlur Rashid for illegally amassing assets worth more than Tk 3.5 crore on Sunday (Oct 20).

Director of the ACC Md Yusuf confirmed the news to media on Sunday.

A team of ACC, led by its Director Md Yusuf on Sunday has arrested the DIG prisons Bazlur Rashid.

ACC Director said that earlier in the day, the ACC started interrogating Bazlur Rashid and his wife, Razzakun Nahar. They were questioned for illegally sending money through courier service. 

He told that the ACC gets its evidence of amassing illegal wealth, and Bazlur Rashid hid his address and bought a mobile SIM in the name of his wife to transact money. 

Md Yusuf said that Bazlur Rashid used to send bribe money through these channels without sending money directly, and in its charges brought against him, mentions 24 receipts for courier of around Tk 1 crore.
