Two cases filed against Priya Saha

Two cases have been filed in connection with sedition charges against Priya Saha, organizing secretary of the Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, Screenshot of a video of Bangladeshi minority leader Priya Saha speaking to US President Donald Trump, which went viral on social media on Friday, July 19, 2019.

The Supreme Court lawyer and prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon, filed a sedition case in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ziaur Rahman's court on Sunday (July 21).

Barrister Suman appealed to the court to take the case under the Penal Code 123 (A), 124 (A) and 500. The court will accept the statement of the plaintiff and place the order later.

On the other side, Dhaka Bar's executive member Ibrahim Khalil filed another case against Priya Shaha. In the court of Dhaka City Magistrate Abu Sufian Noman, he filed the case under section 124 (A). According to Ibrahim Khalil Penal Code, under section 124 (A), Priya Saha was arrested for warrant arrest warrant.
