Can wealth be achieved without stable health? Everyone will agree on this matter that health is the first priority regardless of wealth. Individual health depends on many factors. One factor which contributes a great deal in this 21st century is occupation.
Individual well being can affect their work either beneficially or adversely. Every occupation
consists of some do’s and don't. Sometimes occupational health hazards are overlooked which in turn may cause havoc in society.

Some occupational psychological health problems include:
● Insomnia
● Depression
● Anxiety
● Suicidal Thought
● Maniac

WHO estimates some 300 million people around the world suffer from depression and the
mental health disorder is most common among middle-aged adults.It is crucial to focus the issue
to address the employees mental wellbeing, its effect on individual and ways to fight them.

Why this is taking place:
● Excessive workload
● Inadequate sleep
● Poor job satisfaction
● Sexual harassment in work station
● Ineffective communication
● Conflicting demands & lack of role clarity
Other developed countries are taking initiative to increase support for mental health conditions.
Diseases due to mental health are elevating day by day. Employers had to bear financial

Overcoming Occupational Mental Hazards :
● Motivate yourself towards your work
● Gain adroitness and knowledge to develop your working potential.
● Avoid straining yourself from overworking
● Construct a bond with your co-worker.
● Try to find pleasure and delight in your work
● Consult with the doctor if you feel down.

Occupational Mental health is yet to be highlighted in our country. Every organization should
take necessary steps to overcome the cause of this situation. The government’s involvement in utilization of the legislature to improve the current scenario is becoming mandatory.Therefore, encouraging the implementation of mental health work plans and regular monitoring of employee health and well-being is a call of time. A healthy workforce is a vital requirement for the country's economy in the 21st century.
