Fifty-eight more people have died from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 9,213 in the country.
Another 5,683 coronavirus patients are found in 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 630,277.
A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) made the disclosure on Saturday afternoon.
Health authorities reported another 2,364 people recovered from the disease in a day, rising the total number of recoveries to 5,49,775.
A total of 28,198 samples were tested at 219 authorized laboratories across the country during the time, it added. “Of the total sample tested in the past 24 hours, 22.94 percent was positive.”
24,548 samples were tested in 227 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 47,52,661 samples have been tested in the country so far.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year. The first Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
