52 more deaths of Covid, 7,075 new infected

Fifty-two more people have died from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 9,318 in the country. 

Another 7,075 coronavirus patients are found in 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to   6,44,439.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) made the disclosure on Monday afternoon.

Health authorities reported another 2,932 people recovered from the disease in a day, rising the total number of recoveries to 5,55,414.

A total of 28,198 samples were tested at 219 authorized laboratories across the country during the time, it added. “Of the total sample tested in the past 24 hours, 22.94 percent was positive.” 

The latest day's infection rate was 23.40 percent of the total tests. The death rate stands at 1.45%.

The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year. The first Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
