Lightning strikes killed at least 246 people and injured during February-August period this year, according to a study report.
Save the Society and Thunderstorm Awareness Forum published the report at a press conference held at its office in Capital's Paltan area on Sunday (September 8).
The organization gathered the data from at least 10 local and national newspapers, some online portals and televisions.
The victims include 30 women, six children, and 8 youth and rest men.
Twenty-two of the deaths were reported in Satkhira which is the highest in this district.
Forum general secretary Rashim Molla, research cell executive chief Abdul Alim, vice-president Sohel Rana, among others were present in the press conference.
