Two Farook murder Rohingya suspects die in Teknaf ‘gunfight’

OC Pradip Kumar Das told the media: 2 Rohingya men, suspected of being involved in the murder of Jubo League leader Omar Faruk, were killed in a reported gunfight with police in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar on Friday (Sep-13).

The victims were identified as Abul Karim (24), son of Jamir Ahmed; and Nesar Ahmed alias Nesar ‘Dacoit’ (29), son of Syed Hossain of Nayapara Rohingya camp, he told.

Officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, Pradip Kumar Das told, Police conducted a drive at Jadimura Hill area around 3 am acting on a tip-off, Criminals fired at police at one stage, triggering a gunfight.

OC also said that Karim and Nesar, injured in the skirmish, were arrested from the spot. They succumbed to their injuries while being taken to the Sadar Hospital and 2 guns and seven bullets were recovered from the spot.

On the other hand, Jubo League leader Faruk (30), was shot dead at Jadimura on Aug-22. His family said he had been picked up by a group of Rohingyas and murdered.
