Road accidents kill more people than epidemic: Sultana

Human rights activist Sultana Kamal said the media on Friday (September-13) that road crashes in our country kill more people than any epidemic.

Human rights activist Sultana Kamal announced the program at a press conference at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Friday.

She told that the number of deaths in road accident is increasing alarmingly due to the mismanagement of the government and the transport owners.

Sultana Kamal also said that the road accidents are on the rise due to the absence of good governance and accountability of the concerned authorities, and holding the government, transport owners and workers responsible for this.

Sultana Kamal told: If someone goes outside home, family members have to wait with uncertainty whether he or she will come back alive. Why do we have to pass through such uncertainty?
