Buet Vice-Chancellor Professor Saiful Islam is going to Abrar's home. He left Dhaka for Kushtia on Wednesday morning, said VC's personal assistant Kamrul Islam.
Meanwhile, Buet teachers and students of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at the institution brought out a silent procession on the campus demanding punishment of Abrar Fahad’s killers.
They said that they do not want this kind of politics on the campus, the kind of student politics that does not work for the betterment of the student body.
Earlier on Tuesday, amid protest, the Buet VC extended his moral support to the demands of the agitated students.
“I am, in principle, supporting your (students) demands and assuring you that I will meet your demands,” said the Buet VC in front of his office last evening.
Police recovered the body of Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of the EEE department, from the stairs at the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall around 2:00 am on Sunday.
