Buet alumni demands VC’s resignation

Tonmoy reports of Breakingnews confirmed this news that amid widespread protests over the killing of Buet student Abrar Fahad, the university’s Alumni association on Wednesday has demanded the resignation of the vice-chancellor; the alumni association also demanded overhauling the administrative body.

He said that they raised seven demands, including justice for Abrar and punishment of the killers.

On the other hand, Provost of Sher-e-Bangla Hall at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Khan has resigned amid a massive protest of students over the death of Abrar Fahad, a second year student of the university.

The general students of BUET who have been protesting on the campus since the brutal murder of their fellow Abrar Fahad placed a fresh 8-point demand including withdrawal of Sher-e-Bangla Hall Provost Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Khan by around 6 pm of October 11 for his failure to protect students, and the incident triggered a firestorm of protests on campuses across the country.
