Quader will go to Singapore for health checkup today

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will be left Dhaka for Singapore for regular health checkups on Wednesday at noon.

A regular aircraft of Singapore airlines, carrying the minister, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport at around 1:30 pm.

Obaidul Quader will go through health checkup under the supervision of the doctors of Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

The Awami League general secretary was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital on March 3, as he was having breathing problems. Tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery, and he was flown to Singapore for treatment the next day.

According to doctors, Quader was suffering from uncontrolled diabetes and blood pressure. He also had an electrolyte imbalance.

He underwent bypass surgery on March 20. The minister returned home from Singapore on May 15.
