Diplomats' remarks over Abrar murder useless: FM

Abdul Momen said that foreign diplomats’ comments over Buet student Abrar Fahad murder as 'useless' which have apparently gone beyond their diplomatic norms.

Awami League Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said this while speaking to media at the Ministry on Tuesday (Oct 15).

FM Momen said that there has been an accident and the AL government has taken very powerful actions quickly. This must be recognized, and it seems to me that diplomats go far their norms.

He said that recent shooting at New York City’s Brooklyn that claimed four lives, but no one could be nabbed there but they see no such statement there. but here from day one, the AL government is saying that the bad persons involved in Abrar killing will be given the highest punishment.

The Foreign Minister told that to the killings students in the US and other parts of the world where they see no such statement saying these are not carried out by the government. And here 'Bangladesh' there’s a tendency of blaming; I think diplomats should close it.

On the other hand, AL Information Minister Hasan Mahmud told statements from foreign diplomats stationed on Abrar Fahad murder are uncalled for terming the issue an internal matter of Bangladesh.

Abrar Fahad (21), a 2nd year student of EEE was beaten to death on October 7 reportedly by Chhatra League leaders. And Abrar's father, Md Barkatullah, filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station against 19 people.
