The local administration imposed an indefinite ban on meetings-processions in the district on Monday, a day after clashes between protesters and police left 4 people dead, then a tense situation is prevailing in Bhola district since this morning.
Deputy Commissioner Md Masud Alam Siddique told to media that the step was aimed at maintaining law and order.
Masud Alam confirmed that it will remain effective until further notice.
He said that the district bus owners association has stopped intra district operation from around, 7 am citing security reasons.
DC Masud Alam said that police and border guard troopers were patrolling the town to prevent any untoward incident.
On the other hand, at least 4 people were killed and over 200 others injured in a clash with police at a demonstration programme of general Muslims in Bhola in Sunday.
Police and locals said messages containing derogatory remarks about Allah and Prophet Muhammad were sent to several persons from the Facebook ID of Biplob Chandra Shuvo. Screenshots of the messages went viral on Facebook, triggering condemnation and protests.
