Indian Congress president Sonia Gandhi was admitted to a hospital in Delhi on Sunday. Mrs. Gandhi, 73, is being treated for fever and breathing issues. Her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were also at the hospital, adding the Congress chief was admitted to the hospital near central Delhi at 7 pm, according to reports.
Though there has not been any official statement from the Congress so far, a party source confirmed to The Hindu that Ms. Gandhi was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital.
The Congress chief is to undergo some tests that requires hospital admission.
A spokesperson for the Sir Gangaram Hospital issued a statement the Congress president was hospitalized for a routine check-up.
