Former minister advocate Rahmat Ali passed away

Awami League Advisory Council member and former minister Alhaj Advocate. Rahmat Ali is Passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). He was 75 years old.

He has left his last breath while undergoing treatment at the Square Hospital in the capital city of Dhaka on Sunday (February 16) at around 7:00 am.

SM Jahangir Alam Siraji, the personal assistant to Advocate Rahmat Ali, confirmed to media.

 He said Rahmat Ali had been suffering from diabetes and kidney disease for a long time.

Ali was born on 16 September 1945. He has master's in art and a law degree.

Ali was elected to Parliament from Gazipur-3 in 2008 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate and was re-elected in 2014. He is the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives.
