Hall-Mark Chairman Jasmine refused bail, sent to jail

Hall-Mark Group Chairman Jasmine Islam has been sent to jail after a Dhaka court denied her bail in a case accusing her of embezzling taka from Sonali Bank using a fake letter of credit.

Judge KM Imrul Kayes ordered him to send him to jail after he surrendered to the Senior Special Judge Court on Sunday (July 14).

On behalf of the Anti-Corruption Commission, lawyer Mir Ali Ali Salam conducted the case.

He said, the bail bond from the High Court on March 10 in the case of misappropriation of 85 crore 87 lakh 33 thousand 616 taka of the public looted Jasmin Islam.

He appealed to the ACC's appeal against the order of the High Court. After the hearing, the Appellate Division canceled the bail on June 16 and ordered him to surrender in the lower court.
