Cabinet Division Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said that the government has no plan to extend the Eid-ul-Azha holidays from three days, the public servants must to stay put at their station during the three-day vacation.
Khandker Anwarul Islam informed this while briefing the journalists after the regular Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat on Monday.
He said the Eid-ul-Azha holiday may fall on July 31 or August 1 subject to the sighting of the new moon. And the three-day government holiday will be on the Eid day and one day before and after the Eid day.
This year, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated amid the Covid-19 pandemic during the government-declared 66-day general holidays.
