Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that BNP cannot come out of their circle of ill-politics and falsifying even centering the natural disasters as making falsehood and criticism against the government is the party’s tradition.
“It is BNP’s perpetual heritage to falsify and criticize every step of the government. They could not come out of their circle of evil-politics and making falsehood even over the natural disaster like flood,” he said.
Quader, also minister for road transport and bridges, said this while replying to queries of journalists at a press conference after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das paid a courtesy call on him at his secretariat office.
Quader said apart from the government responses, the leaders and workers of Awami League (AL) stood beside the flood victims with humanitarian supports.
Public representatives are extending their cooperation to the local administrations in taking the marooned people in flood shelter centers, distributing cooked foods and relief goods and providing health services, he added.
He said AL always stays beside the people in their well and woes and never keeps distance from the people in any disaster and never holds only press briefing, rather the party leaders and workers always rush to victims in crisis period, engage themselves in relief program by extending humanitarian hands.
As a pro-people party, AL has set a rare example by standing beside the jobless people during the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, he added.
