‘Samrat arrested for turning public's eyes on Indian agreement'

BNP Senior Joint Secretary Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said Samrat arrested for turning the public's attention to the Indian agreement.

He made the claim at a press conference at the party's central office in Nayapalton on Sunday (October 6).

Rizvi said, ''the agreement to hand over the seaport, Feni river water and gas to the troubled country to India is against the clear constitution. The government did not discuss the agreement with Parliament at any stage. The government has sold the country's interest to remain in power, even though Teesta could not solve any problem.''

She said, ''the Prime Minister had violated her constitutional oath. The Prime Minister's visit to India did not protect Bangladesh's interest in the agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding unilaterally have given everything.''

BNP Senior leader has accused the Prime Minister of resigning after alleging that the Prime Minister had signed a one-sided deal with India without the public interest.

Among others present at the press conference were BNP Chairperson's Advisor Abul Khair Bhuiyan, Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Co-Organizing Secretary Abdus Salam Azad, Deputy Secretary Mohammad Monir Hossain.
