Jatiya Party Chairman (Japa) and former President Hussein Muhammad Ershad is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Razi’un).
On Sunday (June 14) at 7.45 am he left the last breath. HM Ershad, who was undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) of Dhaka on June 22. At the time of his death, he was 89 years old.

HM Ershad was Born on 1 February 1930 in Dinhata of Rangpur district. He got his graduation from Dhaka University in 1950. In 1952 he received commission in the Pakistan Army. In 1960 -1962, he was serving as an Adjutant in the center of the Chittagong East Bengal Regiment.
In 1966, he completed a staff course from Quarter Staff College. In 1968 he was the Major of 54 Brigade in Sialkot. After being promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in 1969, he was the captain of 3rd East Bengal Regiment in 1969-1970 and as the captain of 7th East Bengal Regiment in 1971-1972.
